What Are You Afraid Of?
With all the fear and panic buying going on at the moment, and no idea how things will look when you get this magazine, I wonder what, if anything, you are afraid of? Are you afraid of the virus, of getting sick, of death? Are you afraid for your loved ones, that they may get it and die? Are you afraid of being in lockdown or isolation? Are you afraid you will run out of necessities or how you can be cared of? Are you afraid of being forgotten? Alone?
The Christian Scriptures gives us much cause for hope in the face of adversity. Psalm 46:1-2 says:
‘God is our refuge and strength,     an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way     and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea’
In this time of uncertainty and fear, our prayer for you is this:
‘ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’ Rom. 15:13
We aim to be holding services online via Zoom for those unable to get out and about but would still like fellowship. Details will be posted on our facebook page.
If you would like to know more about the hope that we have, please get in touch.
