A Random Collection of 37.2 Trillion Cells?!
Recently my daughters and I went on a trip to the National Space Centre. It was great fun with lots of interactive activities for the children (big and small) to do.
We attended a workshop about the Beagle 2 mission to Mars, and the young man leading the workshop went on to explain what a wonderful collection of random cells each human being is. Do you ever consider how amazing it is that the average human is made up of some 37.2 trillion cells?!
Some of us may be content with just being a random collection of cells, but where does your worth come from then?
The Bible tells us that we are not a random collection of cells, but instead we were specifically created by God: ‘God created humankind in his own image, in the image of
God he created them, male and female he created them.’ Gen. 1:27
And in Psalm 139:13-15 it says ‘For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb… I am fearfully and wonderfully made… My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth…’
The Bible tells us we are more than a random collection of cells, we each have a worth. Even if you feel you are worthless, the reality is you are worth dying for. And Jesus did.
If you would like to know this Jesus, please get in touch.
